The City of Idaho Springs will have a Ward 1 City Council seat vacancy effective as of May 26th, 2026.
Eligible appointees for the Ward 1 Council seat must be registered voters in Idaho Springs and a resident of Ward 1 for at least the last twelve (12) consecutive months. Ward 1 comprises the area West of Seventeenth Avenue, West of Virginia Canyon Road to Placer Street, and West of Soda Creek Road.
The term of this appointed office will expire in January of 2028 after the City’s next regular election is conducted on November 2nd, 2027.
To be considered for appointment, please submit your letter of interest to the Deputy City Clerk prior to 6 p.m. on June 17th, 2026, at City Hall 1711 Miner Street, PO BOX 907, Idaho Springs, CO 80452, or via email at cityclerk [at] idahospringsco.com (cityclerk[at]idahospringsco[dot]com). The City Council may choose to appoint someone at the June 22nd regular Council meeting or any subsequent Council meeting.
