Idaho Springs adopted the 2018 Building codes and the 2020 (or 2023) National Electrical Code
No Structure shall be erected or altered, used or occupied until a building permit for such erection or alteration, use or occupancy has been issued by the City. (Sec. 21-7,Idaho Springs Municipal Code)

The City of Idaho Springs does not recommend any contractor in particular, but this list contains the contractors who are currently licensed to perform work in Idaho Springs.
All commercial projects require a contractor who is licensed in Idaho Springs specifically.
